UFC on Versus 6 Results: Dominick Cruz Dominates Demetrious Johnson

Who could have seen that coming?

Okay, so most people did, but that's not the point.

On Saturday night, Dominick Cruz fought to a five round unanimous decision (50-45, 49-46, 50-45) by defeating Demetrious Johnson.

Throughout the entire fight, Cruz was a bit out of his element, and was unable to get his normal rhythm going, and had to rely on his wrestling prowess to win the fight.

Cruz did get the better of the striking exchanges, but with the ever prevalent threat of the takedown from Mighty Mouse, he couldn't fully unleash the movement.

On the ground, Cruz was unable to do much against Johnson, all though he did mount him, and take his back at different points throughout the fight.

Cruz came close to finishing the fight two times in the fourth round, as he almost had a rear-naked choke on Johnson.

Johnson was able to fight out of it, and the fight continued on.

Cruz put on another impressive display, and even when he was taken out of his element, he was still able to pull out the win.

He is definitely one of the most dominant champs in the UFC today.

Up next for Cruz will be the winner of the Urijah Faber-Brian Bowles matchup at UFC 139.
