There is simply no disputing the quality in terms of skill, and mentality in Sir Alex Ferguson's men. 

The road to No. 19 was met with challenges along the way, but ultimately Manchester United pulled through and secured the honor of being the most successful club in the country.

Few teams threatened United's course, but ultimately they lay dismantled in a trail of desolate waste that was propelled by heart, skill and history.

Here are the key factors that played into Manchester United winning title No. 19.

Fergie

Sir Alex Ferguson stated his main goal when he arrived at Manchester United was to knock Liverpool off their perch.  Well, he succeeded.

The kings of England are back on top and are the best in the division, largely in part to the work Fergie has put into this team.  From controlling the Wayne Rooney saga, and protecting his squad from the media, Sir Alex is the players' manager. 

He does not need to demand respect.  Can one imagine Dimitar Berbatov voicing his opposition to riding the pine despite being the EPL top scorer? Absolutely not.  In direct contrast, Nicolas Bendtner is constantly berating the Arsenal squad and Arsene Wenger in an effort to make a case for his inclusion.  This does not happen at United because the players genuinely respect and want to succeed for the United gaffer.

Sir Alex has been in fine form this entire campaign, and is undoubtedly the star performer of United's historic season.

The Fortress: Old Trafford

While this season as a whole has been inconsistent at times, Old Trafford has remained one of the true constants.  Having dropped only two points at home, United's away form was allowed to have little effect on their table position.

When Manchester United collect their medals and the coveted Premier League trophy next weekend, it will be fitting to the occasion that United collect their silverware at home, the only place they have truly looked and played like champions this year.

Physically Fit and Ready for Battle

Whatever type of personnel, facilities, or witchcraft United has been using in the training room, it has worked.  With very little in terms of late season injuries, United were not hampered by the loss of any key players in the home stretch.

Park Ji-Sung and Antonio Valencia came into the side right away and made an immediate impact.  Showing little sign of absentee rust, these two played a large part in keeping United on course in the end.

Reports indicate that United will be investing into their medical and training facilities again this summer, to ensure that their players remain healthy and fit. 

Being the Least Rubbish of the Bunch

Some fans of the EPL will be quick to say that this United side was not that good, or not a vintage United.  In that case, what did your team win this year?

Manchester United have been the best of a relatively poor title challengers pool.  The top teams have been below par, and the rest of the teams have improved in general.

Earlier this season Chelsea looked like shoe-in champions, but then decided to go on vacation.  Arsenal had their typical March meltdown, City are still a work in progress and despite beating Stoke in the FA Cup, still don't look like a real threat.  Tottenham found it to difficult to compete on multiple fronts, something a top team can balance.  Liverpool have begun to play like champions; however, it came about four months too late.

Manchester United is the only team that has shown enough consistency throughout the season.  Combined with their attitude and spirit, United is the only team worthy of winning such a difficult league.

Never Gave Up

At times this season Manchester United have been down and out by daunting scorelines to Aston Villa, Blackpool and West Ham.  Yet, United took seven points from those three games. 

Wolverhampton, Liverpool, Everton, Bolton, Stoke and Manchester City have all been beaten at the end by United.  By now teams should be aware that United will always finish the game strongly, however that does little in the opposing teams favor.

This team never gives up, and even when they are down in the 90th minute, United always seem to claw themselves back into the game.

United will be celebrating knocking Liverpool off their perch after their 19th title, but they are surely already plotting for No. 20.
