The contenders for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft became clearer after Week 3. 

Five teams will carry winless records into Week 4. Three of those made picks in the top seven of the 2021 NFL draft.

The Jacksonville Jaguars and New York Jets are struggling with rookie quarterbacks and first-year head coaches at the helm. 

Jacksonville have shown more promise than New York in the first three weeks since Trevor Lawrence has been able to put up points inside his new offense. The start of Zach Wilson's NFL career has been marred by interceptions. 

The Detroit Lions were the closest of the five 0-3 teams to earning a victory on Sunday, but that was snatched away by Justin Tucker's 66-yard field goal as time expired. 

The New York Giants played in a close affair with the Atlanta Falcons. They gave up a game-winning drive to Matt Ryan after being tied 14-14. 

Carson Wentz and the Indianapolis Colts are the other 0-3 team, but at this moment, they would not hold their first-round pick. If Wentz plays over 75 percent of the team's snaps, the Philadelphia Eagles would receive their first-round selection.

Jets Appear to Be in Worst Shape of 0-3 Teams

The New York Jets have scored a combined 20 points in their first three games. 

Fourteen of those points came in Week 1's loss to the Carolina Panthers. 

Since then, Robert Saleh's team has produced a grand total of six points in losses to the New England Patriots and Denver Broncos. 

Zach Wilson has been sacked on 15 occasions and picked off seven times during the opening stretch. 

The ineptitude of the offense is a massive concern for the Jets moving forward, and there is no sign it will be fixed right away. 

Wilson can't stay upright. When he is standing in the pocket, he can't find his own players on a regular basis. 

Additionally, no Jets running back has over 100 rushing yards. Wilson, Michael Carter, Ty Johnson and Tevin Coleman have combined for 240 rushing yards on 3.9 yards per attempt. 

The New York offense could face more issues against the Tennessee Titans in Week 4, and then the team has to make a trek to London to play the Atlanta Falcons.

Atlanta's defense did not look great in Week 1 against Philadelphia, but it was competent enough in Week 3 to hold the New York Giants to 14 points. 

It is hard to find victories on the Jets schedule after their Week 6 bye, so we should be talking about them being in the mix for the No. 1 overall pick all season.

Philadelphia Sitting in Good Shape from Traded Picks

The Philadelphia Eagles are going to be a major player in the 2022 first round. 

Philadelphia has its own first-round pick and the Miami Dolphins' selection from the trades during the 2021 draft. 

Additionally, the Eagles will receive Indianapolis' top pick if Carson Wentz plays 75 percent of the team's regular-season snaps, or if he plays 70 percent and the Colts make the playoffs. 

The former is the current leader of the trade conditions since the Colts sit at 0-3. Indianapolis has lost to Seattle, the Los Angeles Rams and Tennessee to begin the campaign.

Although Wentz has dealt with injuries, he has been in the pocket for a majority of the team's offensive snaps, which puts the Eagles in good shape through three weeks. 

If the season ended today, the Eagles would own two top-six selections thanks to Miami's 1-2 start. The position of that pick will also be affected by an injured quarterback since Jacoby Brissett is currently starting in place of Tua Tagovailoa. 

Four other first-round picks have trade conditions attached to them, but right now, the Eagles sit in the best position to benefit from their deals. 

Indianapolis and Miami play in Week 4, so the Eagles will likely have at least one top-five pick heading into Week 5.
