ESPN Monday Night Football analyst Louis Riddick reportedly is going to interview for two vacant general manager positions.
Per ESPN's Chris Mortensen and Adam Schefter, Riddick will speak to the Houston Texans on Wednesday. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, he is expected to meet with the Detroit Lions on Friday.
Schefter and Mortensen added the Jacksonville Jaguars have "expressed interest in setting up a meeting" with Riddick, but nothing has been scheduled at this point.
Riddick has interviewed for multiple general manager jobs in recent years. The 51-year-old spoke with the San Francisco 49ers in 2017 before the team hired John Lynch. He met with the New York Giants later that year, but Dave Gettleman wound up getting the gig.
Jeff Schultz of The Athletic reported last week that the Atlanta Falcons have Riddick on their list of general manager candidates.
The Texans have had an opening at general manager since firing Bill O'Brien, who also served as head coach, in October following an 0-4 start. They don't have a first- or second-round draft pick in 2021 because of trades and are projected to be $8.6 million over the cap next season, but Deshaun Watson is a franchise quarterback signed through the 2025 season.
The Lions dismissed GM Bob Quinn and head coach Matt Patricia on Nov. 28, two days after a 41-25 loss to the Texans. They are trying to find a path forward without a winning season since 2017 and no playoff appearances since 2016.
Riddick has extensive front-office experience as a scout and in the personnel department. He spent three years as the Washington Football Team's director of pro personnel from 2005 to 2007 and four years in the same role for the Philadelphia Eagles from 2010 to 2013.
