The Seattle Seahawks are "positioned to make a push to sign" free-agent wide receiver Antonio Brown, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. 

Seattle head coach Pete Carroll acknowledged that Brown is on the team's radar on Wednesday, saying the Seahawks are "tuned in" to the situation.

"We have endeavored to be in on everything that's going on and [general manager] John [Schneider] has done a marvelous job of always being tuned in to what's happening," Carroll said. "And this is no exception. So we'll see what happens as we go forward."

Brown is still serving an eight-game suspension handed down by the league after he violated the NFL's personal-conduct policy. Schefter reported the Seahawks aren't the only team to express interest in the seven-time Pro Bowler, who is eligible to return after Week 8.

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported at the time that Brown was open to the idea of joining the team at a later date. In addition, Wilson was among the quarterbacks "enamored" with the star wideout:

According to Schefter, Brown has kept in touch with Wilson and Seahawks backup Geno Smith.

Seattle already ranks first in offensive efficiency, per Football Outsiders. DK Metcalf has taken a step forward in his second season, catching 22 passes for 496 yards and five touchdowns so far. Tyler Lockett (30 catches, 342 yards, four touchdowns) is on his way to another 1,000-yard year as well.

The 5-0 Seahawks don't have a pressing need to sign another receiver, but the allure of Brown is pretty straightforward. Between 2013-18, he averaged 1,524 receiving yards with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Any team that adds the 32-year-old is bound to face a level of scrutiny, though.

In June, Brown pleaded no contest to felony burglary with battery and two misdemeanors stemming from allegations he and his trainer physically assaulted a moving truck driver outside his home in Hollywood, Florida. The charges are what led to his suspension.

The NFL is also investigating Brown for further possible violations of the personal-conduct police after his former trainer filed a federal lawsuit in September alleging he sexually assaulted her twice in 2017 and raped her in 2018.

Sports Illustrated's Robert Klemko interviewed a different woman who alleged Brown sexually harassed her as she was working on a mural at his home. Klemko subsequently reported the woman had received "intimidating" texts after the initial story published.

Brown hasn't played since appearing in one game for the New England Patriots in September 2019.
