For the first time in 2020, ESPN's College GameDay is heading to the SEC. And that's because there's a huge matchup taking place Saturday night in Athens, Georgia.
No. 4 Georgia will be hosting No. 7 Auburn in one of the best ranked matchups so far this season. Not only are these two of the SEC's top teams, but they are also both among the best in the nation.
Before what should be an exciting, competitive contest Saturday night, College GameDay will preview all of Week 5's action on site from Sanford Stadium from 9 a.m. ET on ESPN. But like previous weeks, fans won't be in attendance for the popular college football kickoff show because of coronavirus pandemic-related precautions.
Here's a look at the Week 5 matchups featuring ranked teams, along with predictions and an overall preview of the action.

Week 5 Preview
Both of the two ranked matchups this week are in the SEC. The conference began its 2020 campaing in Week 4, and it hasn't taken long for some marquee matchups to pop up.
First, No. 2 Alabama will host No. 13 Texas A&M on Saturday afternoon. The Crimson Tide opened the season in dominant fashion, going on the road and beating Missouri 38-19. They led by 32 points early in the third quarter and cruised the rest of the way.
Meanwhile, the Aggies didn't win as convincingly in their opener at home against Vanderbilt. Despite playing a much less heralded opponent, Texas A&M led by only two points heading into the fourth quarter and held on for a 17-12 victory.
Alabama is not only off to a better start but has also dominated its series against Texas A&M in recent years. In their first year in the SEC in 2012, the Aggies beat the Crimson Tide. Alabama has since won each of the teams' past seven meetings.
"It's always a measuring stick when you play Alabama as far as where you stand on the national scene because they've been at the top of it for so long," Aggies head coach Jimbo Fisher said, according to Chuck Carlton of the Dallas Morning News. "We've got to keep developing, keep on the plan, which I think we're doing a good job of, but you still have to step up and play well in these games and find ways to win the games."
The other ranked SEC matchup has the potential to be the best game of the week. The Bulldogs will be looking to continue their recent success against the Tigers, having won six of the past seven meetings in the Deep South's Oldest Rivalry.
Georgia got off to a slow start in its season opener at Arkansas. The Bulldogs trailed by five points midway through the third quarter and had gotten no offense going. But they made a quarterback change, pulling redshirt freshman D'Wan Mathis and inserting junior Stetson Bennett, who passed for 211 yards and two touchdowns to lead Georgia to a 37-10 win.
On Saturday, Georgia will have another quarterback in the mix, as redshirt sophomore JT Daniels is expected to be active for the first time since transferring from USC.
Auburn's quarterback picture is much clearer, with Bo Nix in his second season leading the offense. In the Tigers' season-opening 29-13 win over Kentucky, Nix passed for 233 yards and three touchdowns. Auburn was one of only two SEC teams to beat a ranked opponent in Week 5, as the Wildcats were ranked No. 23 at the time.
In 2017, Georgia beat Auburn in the SEC Championship Game. If these teams play up to expectations, Saturday's matchup could end up being a preview of this year's conference title game.
"We know how important it is," Tigers head coach Gus Malzahn told the media. "This game usually has a direct effect on the east and the west. It doesn't matter if we're playing today or in November or in March."
The No. 1 team in the country will also be in action Saturday, as Clemson returns from a bye with an ACC matchup against Virginia. Last year, the Tigers beat the Cavaliers 62-17 in the ACC Championship Game, and it would be a surprise if the result is much different.
But anything can happen. Oklahoma, then ranked No. 3, was a heavy favorite ahead of its Week 4 game at home against Kansas State, yet it lost 38-35. It was a timely reminder that upsets are always possible on Saturdays.
