Dwight Howard and JaVale McGee didn't do much on the court to help the Los Angeles Lakers in their Game 2 win over the Denver Nuggets on Sunday.
However, they get an A+ in antagonizing Nikola Jokic.
Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports reported the two Lakers centers trolled Jokic when he attempted to defend Anthony Davis in the first quarter.
“Thanksgiving, steak dinner, appetizers, filet mignon and potatoes, a glass of champagne!” McGee and Howard reportedly shouted at the Nuggets big man.
Objectively hilarious.
It may not be the greatest idea, though, to ridicule arguably the NBA's best center, who has led consecutive 3-1 series comebacks in these playoffs.
Howard and McGee are two of the more interesting personalities in a colorful Lakers locker room. If anyone was going to troll an opponent, those two would be likely candidates. Howard also probably had a little more spring in his step after a stellar Game 1 performance.
That said, the Lakers might want them to tone it down until the series is in hand. Jokic helped spark a second-half Nuggets comeback that would have resulted in a 1-1 series tie had Davis not hit the biggest shot of his career to give the Lakers a buzzer-beating victory.
A good golden rule: Don't call a guy food who can turn you into a fillet with a couple of slick post moves.
