The Dallas Cowboys' decision to draft CeeDee Lamb received widespread praise, with one NFL offensive coordinator thinking he will fit in nicely with the offense. 

Speaking to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the anonymous coordinator said Lamb and Cooper are "perfect for each other" in Dallas. 

"Amari is a great route-runner with speed. Lamb is physical and really good after the catch—a baller," he added. 

The expectation leading up to the 2020 draft is that Lamb would be off the board before the Cowboys made their first pick at No. 17 overall. 

B/R's Matt Miller projected the Las Vegas Raiders would select Lamb with the 12th pick in his final mock draft. 

The Raiders instead opted to go with Alabama's Henry Ruggs III. The Denver Broncos grabbed Ruggs' college teammate Jerry Jeudy three picks later, leaving the door open for Lamb to end up in Dallas. 

The Cowboys were as surprised as anyone they had an opportunity draft the former Oklahoma star. Executive vice president Stephen Jones told reporters the team didn't bother to interview Lamb because they figured he would be gone when they picked. 

Lamb earned high marks in college for his ability to make big plays after the catch. Miller noted in his mock draft that the 21-year-old is "violent and powerful at the catch point and with the ball in his hands."

In his final season at Oklahoma, Lamb ranked third in FBS with 21.4 yards per reception, tied for fifth with 14 touchdown catches and sixth with 1,327 yards. 

The Cowboys will add Lamb to a receiving corps that had Cooper and Michael Gallup surpass the 1,000-yard threshold in 2019.
