Aaron Rodgers is known for being able to hold a grudge, so the Green Bay Packers' selection of Jordan Love in the 2020 NFL draft could pay off in unexpected ways.

Speaking to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, an anonymous executive joked that knowing Aaron, he will "never retire" and may play "play another six years now."

When the Packers traded up to draft Love at No. 26 overall, it raised questions about Rodgers' long-term future with the organization.

Former Packers quarterback Brett Favre predicted on The Rich Eisen Show that Rodgers wouldn't finish his career in Green Bay.   

Favre also said he spoke to Rodgers, who was "surprised" with the Packers' pick.

Per ESPN's Rob Demovsky, Rodgers did reach out to Love after the draft to welcome him to the organization.

"You know, really good guy," Love told ESPN's Maria Taylor (h/t Demovsky) of the discussion. "[He was] just congratulating me, and I was just letting him know that I was excited to be able to work with him."

Rodgers is signed through the 2023 season, though Sporting News' Vinnie Iyer noted the Packers can "first feasibly think" of potentially moving on from him in 2022 when his dead cap number is a manageable $17.2 million.

Green Bay is coming off a 13-3 record and an appearance in the NFC Championship Game last season. Rodgers, 36, threw for 4,002 yards, 26 touchdowns and four interceptions in 2019. His 50.4 QBR ranked 20th out of 30 qualified quarterbacks.
