Seth Rollins accepted Drew McIntyre's challenge for a WWE Championship match at Money in the Bank.
McIntyre had the first word to open Raw on Monday night and let Rollins know he was prepared to put the title on the line. The Architect responded to say the fight is on.
Rollins set things in motion on last week's edition of Raw when he attacked McIntyre after the conclusion of the main event.
McIntyre would seemingly enter as the favorite given how quickly he dispatched of Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 36. He also survived his first title defense against Big Show.
But the current circumstances under which WWE is operating adds an air of unpredictability.
No matter how much the promotion wants to keep it business as usual, continuing to air Raw and SmackDown from an empty WWE Performance Center doesn't have the same feeling.
Traditional pay-per-view builds are almost impossible, and along the same lines, McIntyre's victory over Lesnar wasn't the kind of WrestleMania moment WWE loves to create every year.
Ending his championship reign now would feel far too hasty, but the company might want him chasing the belt once again in order to stand triumphant in an arena where the WWE Universe cheers him on.
