The Detroit Lions are upgrading their corps of linebackers after reportedly agreeing to a deal with Reggie Ragland.

Per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the two sides agreed to a contract on Friday.

The Lions have invested heavily in their defense this offseason after finishing 26th in points allowed per game (26.4) in 2019.

General manager Bob Quinn has prioritized that side of the ball, agreeing to a deals with Desmond Trufant, Jayron Kearse, Danny Shelton, Nick Williams and Jamie Collins.

Ragland was a second-round draft pick by the Buffalo Bills in 2016 but didn't play in a game for the team due to a torn ACL suffered during training camp.

The Bills traded Ragland to the Kansas City Chiefs for a 2019 fourth-round draft pick in August 2017. He started 25 of the 28 games in his first two seasons with the team but became more of a role player in 2019.

Ragland recorded two combined tackles in the Chiefs' 31-20 Super Bowl LIV victory over the San Francisco 49ers. He finished last season with 30 combined tackles and a career-high two sacks.
