Mychal Mulder has parlayed his 10-day contract into a multiyear deal with the Golden State Warriors.
The team announced Tuesday the rookie guard signed a new contract.
Per The Athletic's Anthony Slater, Mulder's deal is a non-guaranteed minimum contract.
Mulder signed his 10-day contract with the Warriors on Feb. 27. He was in the midst of a successful season with the G League's Sioux Falls Skyforce, averaging 17.0 points and 4.5 rebounds with a 39.9 three-point percentage in 39 games.
In six games since joining Golden State, Mulder has turned out to be a valuable role player for head coach Steve Kerr. The 25-year-old scored a career-high 18 points in Saturday's 118-114 win over the Philadelphia 76ers.
After that performance, Kerr told reporters the Warriors were at least looking to give Mulder a second 10-day contract.
"We are working towards bringing him back, and we're confident that's going to happen," Kerr said. "We don't practice tomorrow, but we anticipate having him Tuesday. We'll see what that means."
Mulder is averaging 12.3 points per game and shooting 35.6 percent from three. His new deal will allow him to finish out the regular season with the team and compete for the backup shooting guard spot next season when Klay Thompson returns from his torn ACL.
