March has arrived, and with it comes the return of Major League Baseball.

Though the league is undergoing an existential crisis of sorts following the Houston Astros cheating scandal, there are still reasons to love and cherish the game, and one of them is soon to re-enter our lives—this year's version of MLB: The Show.

Set to be released exclusively for PlayStation 4 on March 17 and featuring Chicago Cubs star Javier Baez on its cover, MLB: The Show 20 is the 15th entry in Sony's long-running baseball video game series.

The last several editions of The Show have been particularly successful, with the 2017 and 2018 versions each selling over one million copies for PS4 and MLB: The Show 19 being named the best-selling baseball video game in American gaming history.

The game has not yet been released to reviewers yet, so there's not much to say about the specific quality improvements, but one aspect that was previewed early in February was player ratings.

Though these ratings don't cause controversy and create news cycles the way they do in the NBA and NFL, they do provide a generally accurate rating of the best players in the sport and an easy jumping-off point for debate among fans of all 30 teams.
