Dana White has said Conor McGregor could challenge for the UFC's BMF title against Jorge Masvidal in the future.

The one-off belt was originally commissioned for the fight between Masvidal and Nate Diaz at UFC 244, with the former grabbing the victory in November.

According to TMZ, White said: "Conor has talked about wanting a crack at that belt. Conor has talked about wanting a shot at that belt, too."

BMF stands for "Baddest Motherf--ker."

Welterweight veteran Masvidal dominated against Diaz in their fight for the title, with a doctor calling a stoppage because of a bad cut at the end of the third round.

McGregor returns to the Octagon to fight Donald Cerrone at UFC 246 on Saturday in Las Vegas. It's the first time the Irish superstar has fought since his submission defeat to Khabib Nurmagomedov in October 2018.

The bout with Nurmagomedov ended in explosive fashion as both fighters' teams clashed in and outside the cage after the fourth-round tap-out.

Masvidal, 35, previously called out McGregor, saying on The Dan Le Batard Show (h/t ESPN's Marc Raimondi) last July: "I want McGregor, man. I want to break his face. I think that's an easy paycheck. He's got these cash symbols written all over his face for me. I just don't see it going his way at all, if I'm honest with you."

Meanwhile, White said on 101.6-FM in Washington, D.C. (h/t Nolan King of MMA Junkie), in December that McGregor wanted the fight against Masvidal. If Notorious can navigate his way past Cerrone on Saturday, his next contest could be against the Miami-born kickboxer.
