Fantasy Booking a New 4 Horsemen with Current WWE Superstars

The Doctor Chris Mueller

Many stables have come and gone in pro wrestling, but the one often considered the greatest of all time is The Four Horsemen.

The original lineup featured JJ Dillon managing Ric Flair, Tully Blanchard, Ole Anderson and Arn Anderson, but the group evolved over the years to include many other Superstars.

Lex Luger, Brian Pillman, Sting and Barry Windham are just a few of the people who were associated with the group. As far as managers and valets go, The Four Horsemen went through quite a few. The group even had its own referee in Charles Robinson, who was dubbed Little Naitch because of his resemblance to Flair.

The original lineup is still the one everyone thinks of when this stable is mentioned, and if you look at the members' accomplishments while with the group, it's easy to see why.

WWE has tried to replicate the stable with groups like Evolution and The Undisputed Era, but it would be great if we saw a real modern-day version of The Four Horsemen.

Let's look at which Superstars would be the best fits for the group and the roles they would play therein.

Ric Flair

The Group may be called The Four Horsemen, but there are five key members. JJ Dillon served in a managerial role from 1985 until 1989.

The new group would benefit from having another legend in the role, and nobody would be better suited than founding member Ric Flair.

The Nature Boy has the charisma, popularity and mic skills to help build up each Superstar, and his reputation as The Dirtiest Player in the Game would give him credibility as a heel manager who would do anything to help his clients to win.

The storyline could begin with Flair recruiting his first protege before expanding the group to include four Superstars.

The Revival

The Revival have been compared to the Andersons for a long time because of their similar style in the ring and their resemblance in size and look.

They would be the perfect recruits to kick off this whole thing. They are already heels and are the only Triple Crown tag team champs in WWE, with reigns as NXT, Raw and SmackDown champions.

Their track record of putting on great matches would be enough for any manager to want them as clients, and their brief run alongside Randy Orton proved they can work within a larger group.

It would be criminal to create a new Four Horsemen without including Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder. They were born to be the resident tag team in this group.

Shelton Benjamin

A key member of the group is the solid midcard guy. Blanchard filled this role in the original incarnation of The Four Horsemen, and Shelton Benjamin fits the bill to be his successor.

The midcard guy needs to be able to step in if one of the members of the tag team gets hurt or there is a need for the leader to have a tag team partner for the night. He is also the guy who often cheats outside the ring to help the other members during their matches.

Benjamin is a former tag team, U.S. and intercontinental champion. He is one of the most versatile performers on the roster and has the ability to work with opponents of any size. Frankly, it's a shame The Gold Standard hasn't held more titles in WWE because he has always been one of the most consistent Superstars in the ring.

His experience and in-ring acumen would make him an ideal candidate to work with The Revival and Flair as a member of the stable.

Andrade

The final role is that of the leader. Flair was the main guy during almost every single moment of The Four Horsemen's existence. The person who fills this role needs to be a believable contender for the WWE Championship.

It was hard not putting Randy Orton in this position. His history with Flair and The Revival would make the storyline easy, and his record speaks for itself. He has already earned his spot in the WWE Hall of Fame. He just needs to retire in order to claim it.

WWE might want someone a bit younger who can spend years leading the group. This is where Andrade comes in. He is only 30 and is one of the most talented wrestlers in the promotion.

He also has more than 16 years of experience, having debuted in Mexico shortly before he turned 14. And the best part is Zelina Vega can remain by his side.

The Four Horsemen have had many other managers and valets. Vega could continue to serve as a manager and translator for Andrade while Flair leads the group as a whole.

Also, being engaged to Charlotte gives Andrade a public connection to The Nature Boy. If Flair is going to lead a stable, it would be silly not to include his future son-in-law. The Queen could show her support while continuing to pursue her own goals.

The only reason not to include Charlotte in the group as the first female competitor is that she deserves the honor of leading an official Four Horsewomen stable.

Together, Flair, Wilder, Dawson, Benjamin and Andrade could rule over WWE with an iron fist. Forming the group would be an easy storyline to write, and everyone involved would be able to help the others to grow as performers.
