Is your fantasy football league still going in Week 17? I'm not here to shame you. In fact, you might be playing in the most ridiculous week of the season, and who wouldn't want in on that fun?
Yes, Marshawn Lynch could find his way into fantasy lineups for the last game of the regular season. The Seattle Seahawks watched a great backfield go up in smoke over the last few weeks with injuries to Chris Carson, Rashaad Penny and C.J. Prosise. That means we're going old school with Lynch and Robert Turbin rejoining the team for Week 17 and the playoffs.
The usual problems with Week 17 still exist. The Baltimore Ravens have already locked up the top seed in the AFC, so you won't see star quarterback Lamar Jackson or running back Mark Ingram II on Sunday. The Minnesota Vikings and Buffalo Bills are also locked into their respective playoff seeds, so playing-time concerns will be a hot topic this week.
With some teams playing it safe in meaningless games and other teams evaluating young talent, you'll get a special edition of my sleepers article Friday. It will focus on dynasty prospects who could see a bigger role and/or spotlight in Week 17.
Here's my first look at points-per-reception (PPR) rankings for Week 17. These will change throughout the week and up to Sunday's action as we get more information about injuries and limitations, so make sure to bookmark this page for my full rankings for all scoring formats.
Top 100
As an additional tiebreaker, here are the teams I like as a whole this week based on their matchups:
- New Orleans Saints (at Carolina Panthers)
- Kansas City Chiefs (vs. Los Angeles Chargers)
- Philadelphia Eagles (at New York Giants)
- Green Bay Packers (at Detroit Lions)
Week 17 Top 100 PPR Rankings
Quarterbacks
Better than Usual
Carson Wentz, PHI (at NYG)
If you've stuck with the philosophy of trusting players in contention, Wentz has come through for you more often than not in the last month. Despite playing the last few weeks with only three active wide receivers, you could argue Wentz is having his best stretch of the year. He has at least 310 yards in three of his last four games and has nine touchdowns to one interception during that time. Wentz checks in as QB7 during the month of December with 21.5 fantasy points, which is better than Patrick Mahomes (20.9).
The Philadelphia Eagles can win the NFC East with a victory over the New York Giants on Sunday. This is as close to an ideal matchup as you can get for Wentz, as the Giants are coming into this game as the second-easiest matchup for fantasy quarterbacks over the last four weeks. New York just allowed 29.74 fantasy points to the combination of Dwayne Haskins and Case Keenum in Week 16. Fire up with Wentz with plenty of confidence.
Concerns
Kirk Cousins, MIN (vs. CHI)
An ugly performance in Week 16 means Cousins and the Minnesota Vikings have nothing to play for in Week 17. The Vikings are locked into the No. 6 seed in the NFC, so they will hit the road in the Wild Card Round. With no reason to risk Cousins getting injured, the Vikings could limit his playing time or just keep him out altogether against the Chicago Bears. Look elsewhere for your quarterback this week.
Josh Allen, BUF (vs. NYJ)
An impressive run during the fantasy playoffs has Allen sitting at QB12 for the last four weeks, which is admirable considering he had arguably the toughest schedule in that span. The Bills find themselves locked into the No. 5 seed in the AFC regardless of what happens Sunday against the New York Jets.
According to Brian Costello of the New York Post, head coach Sean McDermott said Allen will start the season finale, but backup Matt Barkley will play as well. Knowing the Bills have nothing to play for and that Barkley will get action, you're better off keeping Allen out of your lineup.

Running Backs
Better Than Usual
Damien Williams, KC (vs. LAC)
Have we come full circle on Williams? Yes and no.
After sitting out for three straight games, Williams returned to action in Week 16 against the Chicago Bears, and the Kansas City Chiefs apparently had enough confidence in him to make LeSean McCoy a healthy scratch. Williams finished with 16 carries for 65 yards and three receptions for 27 yards and a touchdown on three targets, which made him RB12 for the week.
At the beginning of the season, Williams was considered a low-end RB1/high-end RB2, but he hasn't lived up to those expectations for the majority of the season. The Chiefs' willingness to keep McCoy off the active roster does indicate their belief that Williams is the top option in this backfield. With Kansas City playing for a potential first-round bye, he should get plenty of work against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 17. Williams looks like a solid RB2 this weekend.
Concerns
James Conner, PIT (at BAL)
Just when we thought it was safe to trust Conner, another injury pops up, putting his status in question for the season finale. Conner returned from a shoulder issue in Week 15 after missing three games and seemed to emerge unscathed. Unfortunately, he suffered a thigh injury in the first half of the Pittsburgh Steelers' Week 16 game against the New York Jets and was unable to get back on the field.
Head coach Mike Tomlin said Conner's status for Week 17 is "very much in question," according to Josh Alper of ProFootballTalk. With the playoffs still within reach, the Steelers hope to have Conner available, but he's far from a lock to be in fantasy lineups.
Devin Singletary, BUF (vs. NYJ)
A strong rookie season for Singletary will continue into January, but his playing time for Week 17 appears to be a question mark. According to Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic, Singletary didn't practice with the team Tuesday. While the typical practice week begins Wednesday, an early-week absence is hardly ideal. Since the Bills are already locked into the No. 5 seed in the AFC, there's no need for them to run Singletary into the ground against the Jets. Keep an eye on this situation throughout the week.
Wide Receivers
Better Than Usual
Robby Anderson, NYJ (at BUF)
For a while, it seemed like the Jets would send Anderson elsewhere at the trade deadline. When that didn't happen, his play tailed off significantly. But if you kept the faith in Anderson, he's paid off in a big way down the stretch. Since Week 12, Anderson is WR11 with 84.5 fantasy points (16.9 FPG). He scored three times in that span, including in Week 16's win over the Steelers.
You'd typically stay away from Anderson at Buffalo in Week 17. However, he's playing well, and the Bills have nothing to play for since they're locked into the No. 5 seed in the AFC. Seeing as Buffalo has every reason to rest its starters or at least limit their playing time, what should be a tough matchup for Anderson doesn't look nearly as bad. He's a strong WR2 candidate for Sunday.
Concerns
Terry McLaurin, WAS (at DAL)
McLaurin has a strong argument for the top waiver-wire pickup of the season, yet he may not be available for the last game of the year. Per John Keim of ESPN.com, McLaurin is in the concussion protocol following a hit he took in Week 16 and will be re-evaluated Thursday. If available, he'll face a Dallas Cowboys defense that's been a top-10 matchup for wide receivers in the last four weeks. Keep an eye on this situation.
Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen, MIN (vs. CHI)
A nightmare of a week for the Vikings could affect the availability of Diggs and Thielen for Week 17. An ugly loss to the Green Bay Packers means the Vikings are locked into the No. 6 seed in the NFC. Since they know that they'll open the first round of the playoffs on the road, they could decide to rest or limit starters against the Bears. That would especially make sense for Thielen, who missed five games with a nagging hamstring injury.
According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk, head coach Mike Zimmer hasn't decided on resting players. However, you should be proactive and prepare to be without Diggs and Thielen for the season finale.
Tight Ends
Better Than Usual
Dallas Goedert, PHI (at NYG)
Goedert's dominance against the Cowboys continued in Week 16 with season highs in targets (12), receptions (9), yards (91) and fantasy points (24.1). While he certainly deserves credit for the massive output, his role became more important with Zach Ertz missing time and then playing through a rib injury.
Goedert has been thrust into a larger role in recent weeks because of the Eagles' issues at wide receiver, but he could be Carson Wentz's top target for Week 17 if Ertz can't go or is limited. Regardless of Ertz's status, Goedert has ascended into must-start territory.
Jacob Hollister, SEA (vs. SF)
Hollister didn't have a huge performance in Week 16, but he came through with 11.4 fantasy points after catching five passes for 64 yards on six targets in a beatable matchup with the Arizona Cardinals.
Now that the Seahawks are down both Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny, Hollister's touches could rise in the Week 17 showdown with the San Francisco 49ers. Luckily, this matchup is good, as the 49ers have given up the fourth-most fantasy points to tight ends in the last month. Play Hollister with confidence.
Concern
Zach Ertz, PHI (at NYG)
Ertz has been a target monster for the Eagles all season, but that was especially true in the second half of the year with the team battling through an absurd number of injuries at wide receiver. However, Ertz ran into a problem of his own against the Cowboys on Sunday when he injured his ribs. He played through the pain to finish with four receptions for 28 yards on six targets.
According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, Ertz has a fractured rib and his status for Week 17 is in question. Be ready with an alternate option if Ertz can't play against the Giants.

Defenses
Best Streaming Option
Atlanta Falcons (at TB)
When a defense faces Jameis Winston, they get a boost. The analysis could stop right there since we've watched Winston all season, but we have statistics to make this decision even easier.
Over the last month, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been the fourth-best matchup for fantasy defenses thanks to 10 sacks, eight interceptions, three recovered fumbles and two touchdowns. The Buccaneers are the third-easiest matchup for defenses on the season. In Jameis we trust.

Kickers
Best Streaming Option
Kai Forbath, DAL (vs. WAS)
The Dallas Cowboys remain in the hunt to win the NFC East, which is all that matters heading into Week 17. Sure, the offense looked terrible against the Eagles and there are questions about the performances of Amari Cooper and Ezekiel Elliott, but Forbath has been perfect since joining the team in Week 15. He has hit all five of his extra points and six field goals, so if you're looking for reliability from Dallas, Forbath is your guy.
