A week after interfering in the AEW Dynamite main event and attacking Kenny Omega, Jon Moxley returns to the squared circle live from Boston as he battles "The Chairman" Shawn Spears in the main event of the October 9 episode.

That bout headlines a show that will also look to address the formation of a new faction headed by Chris Jericho on last week's show and features the start of the AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament as The Young Bucks battle Private Party.

The man who will challenge Jericho for the AEW Championship next week will also be decided when Jimmy Havoc squares off with Darby Allin.

Prepare for this week's blockbuster show with this preview and predictions for the night's card.

Jon Moxley vs. Shawn Spears

Jon Moxley returned to AEW a week ago on the debut episode of Dynamite, attacking Kenny Omega in the middle of the show's Six-Man Tag Team main event. Their brawl spilled to the backstage area, where the unpredictable competitor delivered the Death Rider through a glass coffee table.

Wednesday night, Moxley returns to in-ring competition, squaring off with Shawn Spears in one of the night's main events. The Chairman was last seen at All Out on the losing end of a grudge match against Cody on Aug. 31.

It would appear, on the surface at least, that Moxley would win this one and roll into the November 9 Full Gear pay-per-view, where he battles Omega in a marquee bout originally scheduled to take place at All Out.

Do not be surprised, though, if The Best Bout Machine seeks revenge for last week's sneak attack by making his presence felt in this match.

If that is the case, Spears could score a much-needed win that allows him to build momentum for himself moving forward, while the red-hot rivalry between Omega and Moxley writes its latest chapter.

AEW Tag Team Title Tournament Match: Private Party vs. The Young Bucks

The tournament to crown the first AEW world tag team champions kicks off this week as The Young Bucks battle the upstart Private Party.

Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy have wowed fans with their combination of in-ring charisma, raw athleticism and aerial arsenal, but they will now encounter the measuring stick for tag team wrestling in professional wrestling, brothers Matt and Nick Jackson.

The Young Bucks have competed against, and defeated, every major tag team outside of McMahonland over the last decade and accumulated championship reign after championship reign. They are, arguably, the best tag team of their generation.

This week's match will determine just how ready Quen and Kassidy are to make a run under the bright lights provided by AEW Dynamite on TNT. Their best efforts, though, may not be enough to survive this Superkick Party.

Prediction: The Young Bucks advance

Riho and Dr. Britt Baker vs. Bea Priestley and Emi Sakura

Riho etched her name in the history books a week ago when she upset Nyla Rose to become the first AEW women's champion. This week, she teams with Dr. Britt Baker to battle Emi Sakura and Bea Priestley in tag team action.

Sakura was last seen at Double or Nothing on May 25, when she teamed with Riho and Hikaru Shida in a Six-Woman Tag Team victory. Now, she finds herself across the squared circle from the champion, looking to ruin Riho's first night as the face of AEW's women's division.

Baker and Priestley, on the other hand, have an established rivalry that began at Fight for the Fallen when the latter inflicted a concussion on Baker with a nasty kick to the head. At All Out, she underhandedly eliminated the dentist from the Casino Battle Royale, costing her an opportunity to compete for the AEW women's title.

On the debut episode of AEW Dark, Baker teamed with Allie to defeat Priestley and Penelope Ford, yet there is still clearly unfinished business between the two. They will look to settle their differences this week while jockeying for position in the title picture.

Prediction: Riho and Baker pick up the win

No. 1 Contender's Match: Darby Allin vs. Jimmy Havoc

AEW champion Chris Jericho will defend his title on October 16 in Philadelphia, and we now know who will be competing for the opportunity of a lifetime.

Fresh off a Cracker Barrel Classic at All Out that saw them throw caution to the wind alongside Joey Janela, Darby Allin and Jimmy Havoc will square off Wednesday, with championship aspirations fueling their physicality and creativity between the ropes.

Havoc survived the Classic to emerge victorious in Chicago. That win undoubtedly earned him a spot in this match, while Allin turned the defeat at that show into motivation that allowed him to knock off the veteran Cima on the debut of AEW Dark Tuesday night.

Either competitor would provide a unique challenge for Jericho, who has yet to encounter a wrestler with the styles of Allin or Havoc to this point.

Allin has a high-profile match under his belt already having gone to a 20-minute time-limit draw with Cody at Fyter Fest on June 29.

Havoc, a grizzled veteran who can work a solid, traditional in-ring style as easily as he can staple a competitor's head, is no stranger to big matches himself having competed around the world against some of the premier performers in the industry.

The outcome here is a little less obvious than other matches on the card, especially taking into account the momentum Havoc built for himself via his win in Chicago.

With that said, Allin is one of those future faces of AEW and a high-profile championship encounter in the City of Brotherly Love feels the best way to further establish him in that role.    

Prediction: Allin cashes his ticket to Philly with a hard-fought, physically intense victory

Hangman Page and Dustin Rhodes vs. Sammy Guevara and Chris Jericho

The debut episode of AEW Dynamite went off the air with world champion Chris Jericho standing side-by-side with Santana, Ortiz, Sammy Guevara and the debuting Jake Hager in what appeared to be a brand-new faction prepared to wreak havoc on any and all that oppose them.

Dustin Rhodes was one of the competitors to face the wrath of the united front, and he was left lying alongside brother Cody and The Young Bucks as the show faded to black. This week, he seeks revenge as he teams with "Hangman" Adam Page to face Jericho and Guevara in a huge tag team encounter.

Page came up just seconds short of becoming the first AEW world champion at All Out, succumbing to Jericho's Judas Effect. Wednesday's match represents an opportunity to right that wrong, exorcise that demon from his career and potentially catapult himself back into championship contention after a loss to Pac on last week's show.

This is, though, Jericho and Guevara's first opportunity to show the rest of the roster what they are capable of as a team. They conspired a week ago to make Cody's life a living hell and now look to do the same to Dustin, whose support of his brother may lead to agony and punishment Wednesday night.

Cody, of course, is the wild card.

Will The American Nightmare make his presence felt, eager to avenge the beating he endured at the hands of the world champion and send Jericho a message ahead of their title bout in Baltimore on November 9? Probably, but vengeance may not be enough to prevent Jericho and Guevara from earning a big win for the newly formed faction.
