Ravens Post Video of Odell Beckham Jr., Marlon Humphrey Fight from Browns Game

Kyle Newport

The Baltimore Ravens shared a video Tuesday that appears to show cornerback Marlon Humphrey did not choke Cleveland Browns receiver Odell Beckham Jr. during Sunday's game, despite Browns coach Freddie Kitchens' claim to the contrary.

Beckham and Humphrey were involved in an on-field scuffle late in the third quarter, and Humphrey was accused of choking the receiver as their battle made its way down to the turf. However, upon further review, it appears as though Humphrey may have only had a hold of Beckham's jersey, not his neck:

Both Beckham and Humphrey were flagged for unnecessary roughness on the play. Neither was ejected.

The play—which was a running play—was physical from the start, as both players dropped to the ground early on. Beckham, who had been held without a catch for 42-plus minutes at the time, grabbed Humphrey's facemask, and it appeared as though he then attempted to deliver a blow to the helmet. Once the altercation went to the ground, there was a question as to whether Humphrey had attempted to choke his opponent.

Kitchens certainly felt that was the case.

"I saw what you saw," Kitchens told ESPN's Sal Paolantonio on Sunday (h/t ESPN's Jake Trotter). "He was getting choked on the ground. They get away with that because it’s Odell. I'm going to be on the phone with [senior vice president of officiating Al Riveron] when I get on the bus."

He reiterated that stance Monday.

"Here's my big deal with that: I just want to have consistency on how we're going to deal with things, OK? I don't like seeing our player on the field and someone's hands around his throat," Kitchens told reporters. "I don't like that. I don't think that needs to be in our game, and I would be the first to say that if it was our guy doing it."

Based on the latest video angle, though, it seems Humphrey's hands remained firmly clutched on Beckham's jersey.

Humphrey said after the game that he apologized to Beckham:

Beckham finished with two catches for 20 yards in the 40-25 Browns victory.

With the Ravens and Browns both members of the AFC North, Beckham and Humphrey will see each other on the field again this season. Cleveland hosts Baltimore in Week 16 on Dec. 22.
