The San Antonio Spurs will retire longtime star Tony Parker's No. 9 jersey Nov. 11, the team announced Friday. 

French newspaper Le Parisien (h/t Jeff Garcia of Spurs Zone) first reported the news.

Parker, 37, retired from the NBA in June after 18 seasons in the league, 17 of which he spent in San Antonio.

Taken 28th overall in 2001, Parker wound up forming an iconic "Big Three" in San Antonio alongside Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili. The trio led the Spurs to five NBA Finals berths, winning four championships in the process.

Parker was named Finals MVP in 2007 as the Spurs swept LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, with the point guard averaging 24.5 points on 57.5 percent shooting for the series.

Not only did he help earn 17 consecutive playoff berths and win four championships, but Parker earned six All-Star nods and three second-team All-NBA selections.

He averaged 15.8 points per game and 5.7 assists per game during his 17-year tenure with the team. He retires as the franchise's all-time assists leader (6,829).

Parker wound up spending the final season of his career with the Charlotte Hornets. He told Matt Rochinski of Hornets.com in September 2018 that he moved on from San Antonio because he "just wanted to do something different, experience something new."

But ultimately, his legacy will forever be remembered by his time with the Spurs—and now the organization will honor him by immortalizing the No. 9.

Parker will become the 10th player to have his jersey retired by San Antonio. It will round out the iconic Big Three, as Duncan (December 2016) and Ginobili (March 2019) already have spots in the rafters.
