Washington Wizards star guard Bradley Beal has become the latest United States player to withdraw from the 2019 FIBA World Cup, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports. 

Haynes said Beal is skipping the tournament due to the "birth of his child in late August/early September."

Stars continue to drop out of the FIBA World Cup. 

Anthony Davis, James Harden, CJ McCollum and Eric Gordon have already withdrawn from Team USA, per Marc Stein of the New York Times. Ben Simmons won't be representing Australia, noting he wants to use that time "to return to Philadelphia to acquaint myself with my new teammates and prepare for the upcoming NBA season." 

Tristan Thompson also withdrew from Team Canada, while Andrew Wiggins will not feature for the team. 

As Stein noted, the event is essentially "a six-week commitment this summer," falling directly in the middle of the NBA offseason. For players coming off deep playoff runs or harboring title aspirations in the 2019-20 season, that's a lot of added basketball this summer. 

Nonetheless, the United States remains loaded with Damian Lillard, Kemba Walker, Donovan Mitchell, Kyle Lowry, Khris Middleton, Kevin Love, Jayson Tatum, Andre Drummond and Myles Turner, among others, still on the training camp roster.

The tournament as a whole will be littered with NBA players. Canada, for instance, has a lot of young talent on its team, including Jamal Murray, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, RJ Barrett, Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Brandon Clarke. Kelly Olynyk, Cory Joseph and Dwight Powell, among others, will also feature on Canada's roster.
