Former NFL running back Darren McFadden has reportedly been charged with misdemeanors of resisting arrest and DUI following a January incident in the drive-thru of a Whataburger in the Dallas-Fort Worth area of Texas, according to TMZ Sports.

Per that report, police officers arrested McFadden on Jan. 21 after he was found asleep at the wheel in the drive-thru of the burger chain. McFadden reportedly resisted officers as they attempted to make the arrest and had a blood alcohol concentration of greater than or equal to .15.

McFadden could be facing as much as two years in prison and an $8,000 fine if he's convicted on both charges. He'll appear in court in October.

McFadden, 31, last played in the NFL in the 2017 season with the Dallas Cowboys. He also played with the Oakland Raiders (2008-2014) before joining the Cowboys in 2015. The 2008 fourth overall pick rushed for 5,421 yards and 28 touchdowns in his career, adding 254 receptions for 2,114 yards and five scores.

He rushed for over 1,000 yards twice.

McFadden also helped popularize the Wildcat formation during his college days at Arkansas, pairing with future NFL running backs Felix Jones and Peyton Hillis to form a devastating rushing trio.
