Becky Lynch, Ronda Rousey Among Nominees for 1st-Ever Best WWE Moment ESPY

Mike Chiari

WWE's continued mainstream permeation will give fans the opportunity to vote for the first "Best WWE Moment" ESPY award this year.

According to WWE.com, voters can choose from Roman Reigns' return on Raw, Becky Lynch's Raw and SmackDown Women's Championships win in the main event of WrestleMania 35, Kofi Kingston's WWE Championship win at WrestleMania 35 and Ronda Rousey's Raw Women's Championship victory at SummerSlam.

The ESPYs has been the preeminent awards show in sports since its debut in 1993 and will air July 10 on ABC.

Over the past year, WWE has made some long-lasting memories, and the continued rise of the women's division has been a significant factor.

After a dominant UFC career, Rousey made her WWE in-ring debut at WrestleMania 34 last year. Just four months later, The Baddest Woman on the Planet beat Alexa Bliss at SummerSlam to become the new Raw Women's champion.

Rousey held the title until WrestleMania 35 in April, when she competed in the first women's main event in WrestleMania history against Lynch and Charlotte Flair. Becky pinned Rousey to become the first Superstar to hold the Raw and SmackDown Women's titles concurrently.

As great of a moment as Lynch's triumph was, it can be argued that it was overshadowed by another big win on the same show. After spending 12 years on WWE's main roster as a midcard talent and tag team wrestler, Kingston finally ascended to the top of the mountain by beating Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship.

Reigns had a major victory of his own a couple of months prior when he announced on Raw that his leukemia was in remission four months after he announced on Raw that it had returned.

The Big Dog returned to in-ring action shortly thereafter and went on to beat Drew McIntyre in his first singles match back, at WrestleMania.

All four moments are deserving of consideration, and regardless of who wins the award, it is a major coup for WWE to be presented on the same level as major sports like the NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL.
