Mel Kiper 2020 NFL Draft Big Board: Tua Tagovailoa, Jerry Jeudy Named Top QB, WR

Scott Polacek

Breaking news: The Alabama Crimson Tide are loaded with talent.

ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. released his big board for the 2020 NFL draft, and Bama's Jerry Jeudy and Tua Tagovailoa are the No. 1 wide receiver and quarterback, respectively. Jeudy isn't only the top wide receiver; he's the No. 1 overall player on Kiper's board.

Tagovailoa checks in at No. 4 overall and ahead of fellow quarterbacks Justin Herbert of Oregon (No. 10) and Jake Fromm of Georgia (No. 18).

LSU safety Grant Delpit and Ohio State defensive end Chase Young check in at Nos. 2 and 3, respectively.

The race between Tagovailoa and Herbert to become the top quarterback drafted (and perhaps the Heisman Trophy winner) will stand out this season, especially since Kiper said he saw Herbert as a top-10 player for much of the 2019 draft cycle before he elected to return to the Ducks.

Tagovailoa, the reigning SEC Offensive Player of the Year, has the benefit of throwing to Jeudy.

Kiper pointed to the receiver's "tremendous talent" as a "natural pass-catcher who can beat defenders on every route." He also said the 6'1", 192-pound junior is the most talented wide receiver prospect he's seen since both A.J. Green and Julio Jones were selected in the top six of the 2011 NFL draft.

For context, Oklahoma's CeeDee Lamb is the next highest wide receiver on Kiper's 2020 board at No. 13.

The Crimson Tide will face plenty tests during the 2019 campaign, including games against Auburn, Texas A&M and LSU. If the Tagovailoa and Jeudy combination passes them, they could each be national champions and top-five draft picks.
