2019 NFL Draft Rumors: Raiders, Dolphins Interested in QB Drew Lock on Day 2

Joseph Zucker

Drew Lock is one of the best quarterbacks still available heading into the second day of the 2019 NFL draft, and the Oakland Raiders and Miami Dolphins could be in play for the Missouri star, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter

The Raiders have the third pick of the second round, while the Dolphins will be the 16th team on the clock.

Schefter added the Dolphins may consider trading their second-round pick to the Arizona Cardinals as part of a deal for Josh Rosen. Many expect Rosen's days in Arizona to be numbered after the Cardinals selected Kyler Murray first overall Thursday.

Lock threw for 12,193 yards and 99 touchdowns in four years at Missouri. Bleacher Report's Matt Miller ranked him as the No. 3 quarterback in the 2019 draft class behind Murray and Dwayne Haskins, whom the Washington Redskins picked at 15th overall.

Of the two teams, the Dolphins have a far more pressing need at quarterback. They traded Ryan Tannehill to the Tennessee Titans in March, signaling their desire to go in a different direction at the position.

Miami signed Ryan Fitzpatrick to a two-year, $11 million deal, which was clearly a short-term stopgap before the franchise turned the keys to the offense over to a younger QB.

Although Derek Carr is under contract with the Raiders through 2022, few would be surprised if the Raiders walked out of the draft with his eventual replacement. ESPN's Todd McShay said Tuesday on Get Up! earlier in the week Gruden "does not necessarily love [Carr]" and a changing of the guard could be on the horizon.
