Football legend Diego Maradona was released from a Buenos Aires hospital after a health scare on Friday, and his daughter has confirmed her father is doing "OK."

Per Goal's Michael Plant, Dalma Maradona took to Twitter in response to a journalist who said the 58-year-old was in danger:

"You are saying things that are wrong!

"I do not know who gives you the info but it is serious, when it is something about health, that you say something that is not [true]!

"To all those who are really worried about my dad, I tell them that it is OK, that Gianni [another of Maradona's daughters] is there with him and that in a while he goes home.

"I would publish the photo they sent me but it is not my style to publish everything."

Reuters (h/t BBC Sport) confirmed Maradona left the hospital, and Goal shared a video of the 1986 World Cup winner making his exit:

According to The Independent's Ed Malyon, Maradona was hospitalised with a bleeding in his stomach and kept in the hospital for further testing.

The former Napoli and Barcelona star was expected back in the dugout in Mexico for the start of the new season with his club, Dorados de Sinaloa. Per Plant, his agent had confirmed Maradona would continue to manage the club just hours before news of his health scare broke.

It led to some confusion in Mexico, as the former Argentina international is leaving it late to return:

As Plant and Malyon reported, health scares are nothing new for Maradona. Just last summer, he needed medical attention after Argentina's World Cup match against Nigeria, and he used a walking stick for most of last season.

Malyon also noted his "near-lethal cocaine overdose" a decade ago, and BBC Sport's John May wrote in 2004 how his cocaine addiction dates back to his playing days.

Maradona is widely considered among the greatest players of all time. He lined up for Barcelona and Napoli during the 1980s, winning two Serie A titles and a UEFA Cup with the latter.

His greatest performances were reserved for the 1986 World Cup, where he guided Argentina to their second world title. He scored two of the sport's most memorable goals, the " Hand of God" and "Goal of the Century," in the quarter-final win over England.

Maradona has coached Dorados in the second tier of Mexican football since September, guiding the team to the semi-finals of the play-offs before losing to Tapachula.
