Ex-USC S Bubba Bolden Withdraws After Getting 28-Month Ban for Party Incident

Former USC safety Bubba Bolden announced his decision to leave the school Monday in an Instagram post while explaining that he was facing a 28-month suspension from the program:

The ban was reportedly placed on him by the school's Student Judicial Affairs and Community Standards in response to an incident last February during a house party at which underage drinking occurred.

The sophomore appeared in 13 games as a true freshman last season while totaling eight tackles.

As he explains it, Bolden was at a house party that featured "mutual trash-talking" but left before anything escalated. While the Title IX office did not open an investigation, the school believed he violated the student code of conduct.

"My behavior at the party was not reflective of my character which my family, friends, teammates and many more admire, and for this I'm truly sorry," he wrote on Instagram. "At this point, I'm 100 percent committed to ensuring that the lessons I've learned on and off the field will carry me to the next level."

Bolden was suspended indefinitely in August and as of this week, was no longer on the team's roster.

The Las Vegas native was a highly recruit prospect out of high school, considered the No. 59 overall prospect in the 2017 class by 247Sports.
