The Cincinnati Reds will be happy to see the back of Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich this season.

With a triple in the bottom of the sixth inning Monday night, Yelich completed his second cycle of the 2018 campaign. His first cycle came against the Reds as well.

The 2018 All-Star singled in the first inning to get his night started. Then came a double in the third inning, which put Curtis Granderson in position to score the first run of the game. Yelich later brought Granderson home with a two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth to make it a 4-0 game.

Monday's game won't win Yelich the National League MVP Award, but it's an example of why he at least warrants mention in the MVP conversation.

He entered the night batting .313 with 30 home runs, 89 RBI and a .556 slugging percentage. His 5.7 WAR was best among NL position players, per FanGraphs.

The Brewers are 2.5 games back of the Chicago Cubs in the NL Central but are three games up on the St. Louis Cardinals for the first of two wild-card spots. Should Milwaukee return to the postseason for the first time since 2011, Yelich's MVP case may be too strong to ignore.
