Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is hoping to play in Sunday's key NFC North matchup against the Minnesota Vikings, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, though his status remains up in the air:

Rodgers suffered a left knee injury in the second quarter of Sunday night's 24-23 comeback win over the Chicago Bears at Lambeau Field and was eventually carted to the locker room for further examination. But he ultimately returned, leading back the Packers from a 20-0 deficit. 

"Aaron Rodgers was remarkable," Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said after the win, per Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com. "I just can't tell you how proud I am with him."

Rodgers also spoke about the comeback victory:

"Well, this is what we're paid to do. We're paid to deal with injuries and play through 'em. That's what everybody is doing and will be doing throughout this season. That's the measure of a teammate, is what are you willing to put on the line for your team? And to me, it's a no-brainer. Being out there is special. The ovation from the crowd lifts you up, gives the energy, the momentum of the game, and you feel the tide turning. It's special.

"This will definitely go down as one of my favorite memories, especially in this rivalry."

The veteran quarterback underwent testing for his injury Monday. After the game, Rodgers told NBC's Michele Tafoya that he was going to play against the Vikings, though he later revised those comments slightly, telling reporters, "As long as there are no major issues, I'll keep playing."

Should Rodgers be forced to miss any time, the Packers would be in trouble. At the least, they will be major underdogs to the Vikings if Rodgers is unable to go. 

The team opened last year 4-1 with Rodgers under center, but after he suffered a broken collarbone in Week 6, he went on injured reserve. He returned for one game in December, a loss to the Carolina Panthers, before Green Bay shut him down for the season again.

In total, the Packers went 4-2 in games Rodgers started and finished and 3-7 in contests he either missed or was unable to complete because of injury last season. 

His backup Sunday, DeShone Kizer, struggled in relief duty, finishing 4-of-7 for 55 yards while throwing a pick-six to Khalil Mack. But Rodgers was the hero, leading an epic comeback that included three touchdown passes in the fourth quarter alone.
