AC Milan have reportedly opened talks with Paris Saint-Germain over a move for midfielder Adrien Rabiot.
The Rossoneri are keen to bring the 23-year-old in as a free agent when his contract expires next summer, or they could look to acquire him from PSG in January, per Le10 Sport (h/t Football Italia).
Rabiot has refused to sign a contract extension at the Parc des Princes and has also been linked with Serie A sides Juventus, Roma and Inter Milan, per the report.
Barcelona have also offered the midfielder a deal worth £9 million per year to move to the Camp Nou, per Mundo Deportivo (h/t Calciomercato.com).
PSG manager Thomas Tuchel has said the midfielder's future at the club is uncertain, via ESPN FC's Jonathan Johnson:
The French champions want to keep hold of Rabiot. However, their latest contract offer has been turned down by the Frenchman, according to Paris United (h/t Sport).
Rabiot is a stylish midfielder with bags of potential. He is technically gifted, excellent in possession and has the vision to dictate play.
WhoScored.com highlighted just how impressive he was last season in Ligue 1:
The midfielder has already made an impact in the new campaign with PSG. He grabbed an assist in their French Super Cup win over Monaco. He was also on target as they began their Ligue 1 title defence with a 3-0 win over Caen.
Rabiot's refusal to so far commit his future to the Parisiens will concern his club and offer encouragement to his many admirers.
AC Milan will be hoping to improve on last season's disappointing campaign. The club finished in sixth place in Serie A despite a summer of heavy investment.
The summer has also seen more upheaval at the San Siro with another busy transfer window for the club. Gonzalo Higuain has arrived on loan from Juventus, with Leonardo Bonucci going the other way, while Tiemoue Bakayoko has also joined on a temporary deal.
Nikola Kalinic, Samu Castillejo and Diego Laxalt have also been signed with Pepe Reina and Ivan Strinic joining on free transfers.
Manager Gennaro Gattuso will be expected to lead Milan back into the top four, and they certainly have a squad capable of challenging at the top of the table.
The addition of Rabiot would be another good sign for the Serie A side. However, they may prefer to wait until next summer when he will be available as a free agent.
