The New York Knicks and forward Noah Vonleh have agreed to a contract, the team announced Tuesday.

Vonleh, who turns 23 in August, split last season with the Chicago Bulls and Portland Trail Blazers. He averaged 4.9 points and 5.8 rebounds in 54 games.

The Knicks will be Vonleh's fourth NBA organization since the Charlotte Hornets took him with the ninth overall pick in the 2014 draft.

Viewed as a potential stretch 4 who could play some 5 in athletic small-ball lineups, Vonleh has been ineffective at every NBA stop. He's never averaged even five points per game over the course of a season, averages 15.5 minutes per game for his career and has totaled 5.1 win shares in four years, per Basketball Reference.

Those looking for a glimmer of hope could look to his performance in March, which featured a stretch of four double-digit scoring performances in five games and a pair of double-doubles.

"I feel I can bring some toughness, bring some energy and my defensive ability to be able to switch onto guards and bigger guys," Vonleh told the Bulls' website in April.

The Knicks have 15 players on guaranteed contracts already on their roster. Should Vonleh make the team, they will have to make a trade or release someone with guaranteed money on the books.
