After being limited by a hip injury throughout the 2017-18 season, Isaiah Thomas announced he is finally back to normal:

The point guard was out until January following hip surgery before making his Cleveland Cavaliers debut and was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers after just 15 games. He averaged 15.2 points and 4.8 assists per game in 32 contests between the two teams.

The 5'9" player earned an All-Star selection in each of the previous two years, ranking third in the NBA with an average of 28.9 PPG in 2016-17. Unfortunately, he had a steep drop off following his injury.

His efficiency was especially problematic, shooting just 37.3 percent from the field and 29.3 percent from three-point range.

Thomas underwent arthroscopic surgery in March with a potential recovery time of four months. It appears this latest procedure made a positive impact as he hopes to return to the level we saw two years ago.

Unfortunately, the 29-year-old enters free agency this offseason and will likely be judged on the disappointing effort from this past year.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Lakers could be interested in re-signing him if the pursuit of LeBron James and Paul George falls through. Head coach Luke Walton reportedly "feels he's had a positive impact on the younger players."

Of course, any team that hopes to sign Thomas will likely have to review his medical records before committing to big money.
