Manchester United Transfer News: Sergej Milinkovic-Savic Done Deal Rumoured

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic's representatives have reportedly said that his rumoured move to Manchester United is a "done deal."

According to Samuel Luckhurst and Ciaran Kelly of the Manchester Evening News, some of the Lazio star's camp have said that a switch to United is already agreed in a similar manner to the transfers of Victor Lindelof and Nemanja Matic, with whom the Red Devils had agreements in place before the transfer window even opened.

However, that is said to be premature in Milinkovic-Savic's case, though the club remain interested in him.

The Serb's agent is Mateja Kezman, whom United boss Jose Mourinho signed during his first spell at Chelsea.

Milinkovic-Savic has had an excellent campaign, bagging 13 goals and nine assists for Lazio from midfield.

Sports journalist Sam Street is an admirer:

Street is far from the only one—Milinkovic-Savic has won plenty of fans of late after emerging as a top talent in Serie A.

As his numbers demonstrate, he has plenty to contribute in the final third both in terms of making goals and taking them, and his impressive blend of the physical and the technical makes him an outstanding presence to have in the centre.

He's a dynamic mover and committed ball-winner, too, making him a strong all-rounder and reminiscent of United star Paul Pogba in many ways. Although that may prompt concern as to how well they might fare in the same side, United writer Hesham Bilal-Hafiz is confident they could dovetail nicely:

If that would be the case, the Red Devils' play in the centre of the pitch could be significantly more effective next season.

That could have a knock-on effect on their forward play, too, as the pair could bridge the gap between attack and defence much more coherently.
