Doug Pederson continues to reap rewards from the Philadelphia Eagles' victory in Super Bowl LII. 

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported Thursday that the Eagles exercised the fifth-year option in Pederson's contract, keeping him with the team through the 2020 season. 

The Eagles hired Pederson to take over as head coach in January 2016 after they fired Chip Kelly before the final game of the 2015 season. 

After a modest 7-9 record in his first season, Pederson led the Eagles to a 13-3 record during the 2017 campaign and the franchise's first-ever Super Bowl title with a 41-33 victory over the New England Patriots.

Philadelphia overcame the loss of starting quarterback Carson Wentz, who tore his ACL in a Week 14 win over the Los Angeles Rams. Nick Foles started the final six games, including the playoffs, and was named Super Bowl MVP after throwing for 373 yards and accounting for four total touchdowns.

Pederson has quickly established himself as one of the NFL's best head coaches, and the Eagles have built a roster for him that will allow them to be a championship contender for years to come.
