Tottenham Transfer News: Fresh Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Ciro Immobile Rumours

Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly launch a raid on Serie A this summer and look to seal a double swoop on Lazio pair Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Ciro Immobile.

Neil Moxley of the Sunday People wrote that Spurs are prepared to spend upwards of £100 million on the duo (h/t Mirror). They are among the hottest assets in Italy's top flight after leading Lazio to within touching distance of UEFA Champions League qualification.

Moxley reported that manager Mauricio Pochettino wishes to retain the core of his squad but is looking to improve in certain areas, with central midfield being one of them.

Milinkovic-Savic, 23, has enjoyed a terrific season at the Stadio Olimpico and has Lazio on the verge of clinching a spot in Europe's premier club competition, as well as breaking personal bests in goal production, per Statman Dave:

Immobile has broke new ground this term too, netting 41 times in all competitions in his second season at the club. Harry Kane reigns as the frontman of choice under Pochettino, however, and it's doubtful whether Immobile would be content without a guaranteed start.

Kane, 24, has emerged as arguably the most valuable piece of the Spurs puzzle in recent years, but The Independent pointed to evidence that Immobile is a whirlwind force in Serie A:

According to Moxley, Tottenham are willing to let Danny Rose, Mousa Dembele, Victor Wanyama, Moussa Sissoko and Toby Alderweireld leave the club.

Milinkovic-Savic would provide the kind of box-to-box presence Pochettino simply doesn't have among his personnel, although the Telegraph's Ali Tweedale has spoken highly of the potential in the Spurs ranks:

There's little doubt a star like Dembele, 30, should be kept around in north London if possible, but Milinkovic-Savic, also heavily rumoured as a target for Manchester United, would be an upgrade in the engine room.

Some questions would also be raised regarding Spurs offering £100 million or more—a relatively modest fee for two such talented players.

Milinkovic-Savic recently addressed rumours of a Lazio exit, per Yahoo Sport UK:

Of the Lazio pair, one would think Milinkovic-Savic should be targeted as a priority given the north Londoners are seemingly content with Kane as their starting option in attack.

But much will depend on Lazio's run-in and how they fare in the push for Champions League qualification, with that fate likely to heavily affect their chances of retaining their top players.
