Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten isn't planning on ending his playing career any time soon.

Per Jon Machota of the Dallas Morning News, Witten would like to keep playing for at least four more years.

"Hopefully I can play until I'm 40," Witten said. "Just taking it one year at a time."

Witten, who will turn 36 on May 6, has spent his entire 15-year career with the Cowboys since being selected in the third round of the 2003 NFL draft.

Speculation about Witten's future in the NFL arose last month when Michael McCarthy of Sporting News reported Fox Sports was pursuing the 11-time Pro Bowler to be a television analyst.

Former Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo made a similar move last year when CBS Sports hired him as an NFL analyst after he retired from the league in April.

Witten is one of the NFL's all-time iron men with 179 consecutive starts and just one missed game in his career. He is the Cowboys' career leader with 1,152 receptions and 12,448 receiving yards.
