The Seattle Seahawks are looking at the future of their quarterback situation, and Russell Wilson has taken notice.

As Jim Trotter of NFL Network noted, the quarterback's agency reached out to the front office after general manager John Schneider attended Josh Allen's pro day:

"When John Schneider went and watched Josh Allen's pro day," Trotter explained (h/t Liz Mathews of Seahawks Wire), "Russell Wilson's camp reached out and said, 'Is there anything we need to know here? With all these changes going on, does this mean anything for Russell?'"

Trotter also noted there are no immediate plans to trade Wilson, but the team could be looking at a rebuilding plan.

The 29-year-old is signed through 2019, but there is an out after the 2018 season that would only leave just over $8 million in dead cap, per Spotrac. Alternatively, the team could choose to trade him before the final year of his deal.

Seattle has already gone through major changes this offseason to the roster that won two NFC championships and one Super Bowl in the past five years. Michael Bennett was traded and Richard Sherman was released, while Earl Thomas heads into the final year of his contract.

After missing the playoffs last year for the first time since 2011, it's reasonable to think about the future.

Allen is considered the No. 6 overall player in the class and the second-best quarterback by Bleacher Report's Matt Miller, but not everyone agrees about his status as a prospect. With strong tools but limited production at the college level, the Wyoming product could go No. 1 overall or drop to the second round.

If Allen doesn't fall to the Seahawks at No. 18, the team could still try to find another quarterback who could eventually replace Wilson.
