Michael Porter Jr.'s Brother Jontay Declares for 2018 NBA Draft Without Agent

Missouri Tigers freshman power forward Jontay Porter announced Thursday he's declaring for the 2018 NBA draft but won't hire an agent.

Jeff Goodman of ESPN reported the news. Porter, the brother of college teammate Michael Porter Jr., can return to school if he backs out of the draft class by May 30 since he's elected against hiring representation at this stage of the process.

Mizzou Basketball provided a statement from the 18-year-old Missouri native:

Porter averaged 9.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.7 blocks across 33 appearances for the Tigers during the 2017-18 campaign.

He struggled during the team's first-round NCAA tournament game, though. He connected on just one of his seven shots for two points in 28 minutes as Missouri fell to Florida State, 67-54.

NBADraft.net projects him to come off the board to the Minnesota Timberwolves with the No. 24 pick in its latest mock draft.

His brother Michael, who declared for the draft last month, is selected third overall by the Atlanta Hawks in the same forecast.
