Seattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider is the latest member of the sports fraternity to adopt the phrase "Trust the Process" as his rallying cry.

Schneider said during an appearance on 710 ESPN Seattle on Friday the Hawks organization is not rebuilding, instead calling it a "reset."

"It's a constant reset every single year, it doesn't stop," he said. "When I say 'reset' people are like, 'Well it's a rebuild.' We're not rebuilding; it's just a reset. We've got some pretty good players on this football team. And there's a lot of young players that people don't necessarily—they haven't heard their names yet."

The GM added: "Trust the process, man."

The Seahawks' vaunted defense has lost some of its most notable pieces this month with the release of cornerbacks Richard Sherman and Jeremy Lane, as well as the trade of defensive end Michael Bennett to reigning Super Bowl champions Philadelphia Eagles.

Schneider told 710 ESPN Seattle he doesn't believe those departures are going to impact the team's effort to re-establish an identity next season and beyond.

"Smart, tough, reliable, fast, physical football team that's competing like its never been seen before," he said. "And it's this ultimate standard that you're constantly trying to reach. There's no finish line."

Although "Trust The Process" isn't a new term, it's been taken to greater heights in recent years by the Philadelphia 76ers, most notably center Joel Embiid. The Sixers endured five straight losing seasons, including a miserable 10-72 campaign in 2015-16, during their retooling process.

Schneider seems to believe the Seahawks won't reach those type of lows, but he wants the team's diehard fanbase to keep the faith while they try to create another roster capable of competing for titles.
