Prior to Friday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers, Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard opened up about learning his brother had been shot and the birth of his son.

Per ESPN, Lillard explained the "highs and lows" of welcoming a new child to the world and later "having to deal with a tragedy in the middle of it was unfortunate."

Lillard noted his half-brother, Jahrell, was "doing fine" after he was shot five times Thursday. 

"My No. 1 concern is his health and well-being," he told reporters. "Right now he's stable and doing fine. In a situation like this, you can't ask any more than that. You've got to let the authorities do their job."

Clackamas County Sheriff's Office officials said Jahrell Lillard may have been the victim of a targeted attack when he was shot at the Clackamas Town Center, per The Oregonian.

Jahrell, 20, is in stable condition.

Damian returned to the Blazers on Friday after missing one game to be at the hospital with his girlfriend for the birth of their first child.

"It was like 46 hours of labor, ended up being a C-section," Lillard said. "He made it safely, healthy, big boy. I had a great start to my day yesterday."

Damian capped off his whirlwind stretch by scoring 17 points and dishing out 11 assists in Portland's 105-96 win.
