Bulls Rumors: Chicago Signs Sean Kilpatrick to 3-Year, $6.2 Million Contract

The Chicago Bulls reportedly signed guard Sean Kilpatrick to a three-year, $6.2 million contract Monday.

According to Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports, the Bulls used their mid-level exception to facilitate the signing.

Kilpatrick has played for the Brooklyn Nets, Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Clippers this season.

The 28-year-old Kilpatrick went undrafted in 2014 after a standout collegiate career at the University of Cincinnati. He spent time with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Denver Nuggets and Nets in his first two campaigns.

His true breakout came last season, when he averaged 13.1 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 70 games as a major bench contributor in Brooklyn.

The Nets waived him after just 16 games this season, though, and Milwaukee waived him after 23 contests.

Kilpatrick appeared in four games for the Clippers on a pair of 10-day contracts, but the Bulls offered him a deal with some security.

So far this season, Kilpatrick is putting up 4.4 points and 1.4 rebounds in just 9.9 minutes per game.

He could see some significant playing time in the Chicago backcourt down the stretch since Zach LaVine is dealing with a knee injury and Kris Dunn is nursing a toe ailment.
