Jeff Fisher Says Vince Young Letter from University of Texas Misspelled His Name

Jeff Fisher confirmed Saturday that he received a letter from Vince Young apologizing for the quarterback's immature conduct during their time together with the Tennessee Titans.

The problem, according to Fisher, is that his name was spelled wrong.

"Yes, I got a letter from Vince," Fisher said at 104.5 The Zone's SportsFest, according to PaulKuharsky.com. "And I didn't respond. My name was spelled wrong on the letter, the letter came from the University of Texas, and I had no way of knowing if it was [really] from him. It came from the athletic department. But my name was spelled incorrectly.

"I still have it. But I didn't know if it was from him so I felt no need to respond."

In a 2017 interview with Sports Illustrated's Greg Bishop, Young explained he sent Fisher a letter trying to make amends for a rocky relationship but confirmed he never received a response.

While Young told Bishop, "I forgive him" and "I still regret it," regarding their past, he still harbored some animosity toward the longtime Titans boss.

"I guess he doesn't give two s--ts about me," Young said.
