Report: Bonzie Colson Injury Diagnosed as Foot Fracture; Back for Draft Workouts

Notre Dame forward Bonzie Colson reportedly re-fractured his left foot during Saturday's 73-63 NIT loss to Penn State but will be healthy in time for the start of predraft workouts, according to Yahoo Sports' Shams Charania.

Colson initially fractured his left foot in early January. The senior missed 15 games and returned to the floor Feb. 28.

Although he was limited to 21 games, Colson finished his senior season with robust numbers and averaged a career-high 19.7 points and 10.1 rebounds while shooting 50.3 percent from the floor.

Tthe 22-year-old was arguably more impressive as a junior, though.

Despite posting a slightly lower scoring average (17.8 PPG), Colson flashed serious pro promise by drilling 43.3 percent of his 60 three-point attempts. In fact, Colson was one of four players who averaged at least 15 points and 10 boards while shooting at least 40 percent from three during the 2016-17 campaign.

Colson only converted 29.3 percent of his triples this past season. However, it's clear he has the tools necessary to stretch his game out beyond the arc.

Assuming he can flash a steady stroke during predraft workouts to supplement his quality play out of the mid- and high post, it stands to reason the 6'6", 224-pound tweener could wind up working his way into the second-round conversation by June.
