Houston Rockets guard Gerald Green has been fined by the NBA for shoving Minnesota Timberwolves center Gorgui Dieng on Sunday.
Per Yahoo Sports' Shams Charania, Green was docked $25,000 for his actions against Dieng in Houston's 129-120 win over Minnesota.
The incident occurred during the fourth quarter of Houston's win when Dieng shoved Chris Paul after taking exception to how the Rockets' star guard was playing defense in the post.
Green retaliated by shoving Dieng, who fell into the first row of seats next to the bench on the sidelines.
Afterward, Green explained his actions by noting he was defending one of his teammates.
"I'm just trying to be there for my teammate," Green told reporters. "I saw something happen and I reacted. I paid the consequences for it. I learned my lesson, got ejected, try not to do that again, and hopefully we're going to move forward from this."
Per Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle, Paul said after the game he would pay any fine Dieng received from the NBA.
Since signing with Houston in December, Green is averaging 11.3 points and three rebounds per game off the bench.
