Wednesday's schedule for the 2018 Big 12 tournament featured four teams in two games fighting to keep their hopes for a spot in the field of 68 alive.

A total of 10 teams will fight for conference supremacy over the next four days, with the winner getting an automatic berth in the NCAA tournament.

Kansas has dominated the Big 12 overall with 10 tournament titles since 1997, but Iowa State has won three of the previous four conference tournament titles. The Cyclones enter this year's tournament as the No. 10 seed and will need to prevail again to keep playing next week.

Here's a look at the updated results for the Big 12 tournament as games go final, as well as a look at the quarterfinal schedule on Thursday.

Oklahoma State 71, Oklahoma 60

In potentially the final game of his college career, Trae Young went out on a low note, with Oklahoma falling to Oklahoma State 71-60 in the first game of the Big 12 tournament.

After a 12-1 start, which included a 109-89 win over the Cowboys on Jan. 3, the Sooners limped to the finish line with six wins in their final 18 games.

ESPN's Joe Lunardi has Oklahoma in the NCAA tournament as a No. 9 seed in his latest bracketology update, though that doesn't factor in Wednesday's loss.

Jeff Ermann of 247Sports doesn't think the Sooners are playing at a level worthy of making the NIT right now:

There will also be teams shifting into those at-large spots throughout the week as more upsets happen, so the Sooners are going to be sweating things out on Selection Sunday.

One of the big problems for Oklahoma, especially during this recent cold stretch, has been a lack of support behind Young. The star freshman scored a game-high 22 points, but he needed 21 shots to get there.

Rashard Odomes was the only other Sooners player to reach double figures in scoring with 12 points.

Oklahoma State is another NCAA tournament bubble team that Lunardi had among his "First Four Out," so this win is huge for its resume.

The Cowboys dominated on the glass, outrebounding Oklahoma by a 53-27 margin. That helped to make up for an otherwise pedestrian shooting night in which they hit 39.1 percent of their attempts.

All five Oklahoma State starters had at least five rebounds. Senior guard Jeffrey Carroll had his first double-double since Jan. 20, also against Oklahoma, finishing with 13 points and 13 rebounds.

Next up for Oklahoma State is a matchup with Kansas in the quarterfinals. The Cowboys became the first team since Iowa State in 2000-01 to win two regular-season games against the Jayhawks, including an 82-64 romp at Allen Fieldhouse on March 3.

Texas 68, Iowa State 64

Texas is fighting for its NCAA tournament life and could ill-afford to drop its first Big 12 tournament game to Iowa State.

Fortunately for Longhorns fans, the team prevailed in a 68-64 victory in nail-biting fashion. Cameron Lard's basket in the closing stretch cut the lead to 66-64, but Matt Coleman's jumper for Texas marked the only two points in the final minute of the game, as the Cyclones failed to take advantage of a missed free throw and turnover from the victors.

Lunardi had Texas as one of his last four teams in the field before the win, underscoring how important it was for Shaka Smart's squad.

Only two Longhorns score in double figures, but the defensive effort in crunch time was enough to preserve the win. Dylan Osetkowski led the way with 20 points and three steals, while Jase Febres added 12 points and Jericho Sims just missed a double-double with eight points and 15 boards.

On the other side, 20 points and eight rebounds from Lindell Wigginton weren't enough for the Cyclones. It wasn't all great for the guard, as he had nine of Iowa State's 17 turnovers and was just 2-of-7 from three-point range in the loss.

Texas now turns its attention toward a clash with in-state rival Texas Tech on Thursday.

The two sides split their regular-season matchup, with the Red Raiders' victory coming in overtime. The Longhorns already beat Texas Tech once this season, and another win would go a long way toward securing their spot in the NCAA tournament.
