Christian Eriksen's agent Martin Schoots has discussed rumours linking the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder with some of the world's biggest clubs, which he believes is a testament to the player's ability. 

Speaking to Danish outlet BT (h/t the Mirror's Aaron Flanagan), Schoots said many clubs have contacted Spurs regarding his client's availability, but "it is not all clubs known by the press."

Per Flanagan he said:

"I don't comment on rumours much, but when clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United are mentioned, it's always a compliment.

"Since Christian was 14 years old, big clubs have shown interest. The first were Chelsea, AC Milan and Barcelona, since then there has been no transfer window without any offer or interest."

The 26-year-old perhaps flew under the radar somewhat when he first arrived at Tottenham from Ajax, but in recent years he has established himself among the best players in the Premier League.

With a variety of scintillating passes in his armoury, Eriksen can dominate games from midfield and provide incredible service to those ahead of him.

Bleacher Report's Sam Tighe and Spurs writer Chris Miller hailed his ability after he helped spearhead Tottenham's comeback in their 2-2 draw with Juventus earlier in February:

According to Squawka, Eriksen has registered eight assists in the Premier League and UEFA Champions League this season, having created a combined total of 83 chances in the two competitions.

He also carries a goal threat, too, including from distance and set pieces, and he has found the net nine times for Spurs this season. For Denmark, he has scored seven goals in six matches in this campaign.

Eriksen is of sufficient calibre to play for any elite club in Europe, so it's of little surprise he is attracting so much interest.

Prising him away from Spurs would be difficult and costly, though, so any admirer hoping to secure his signature would need to be prepared to offer a great deal to land him.
