The nation's top three teams remain head and shoulders above the competition.

As for the remainder of the Top 25, let's just say things could have gone better. 

Villanova, Virginia and Purdue remain the class of men's college basketball in the latest Associated Press poll but are followed by major changes in the Top 10 due to some surprising upsets. Michigan State and Xavier, which each had scares this week, round out the Top Five.

Duke, which was No. 4 a week ago, tumbled five spots following an 81-77 loss to St. John's that ranks as arguably the biggest upset of the season. The Red Storm had lost 11 straight games, including all of their Big East matchups, before coming back from a seven-point halftime deficit to topple Duke.

Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski told reporters:

"I thought they made us look bad, but we made ourselves look bad. We did not play basketball the first 32 minutes worthy of our program. And we had blank faces, we didn't talk, we were like five individuals out there, and it was disgusting, really.

I do not know why. I can tell you, that's not the group I've coached all year, and they were a very frustrating group to coach today because they didn't respond to anything until the last eight minutes, and that's unacceptable."

Duke turned the ball over 18 times and allowed St. John's to pick up 16 offensive rebounds.

Kansas also took a tumble. The Jayhawks continued their surprisingly shaky play at home this season with an 84-79 loss to Oklahoma State. The Jayhawks have lost three games at Allen Fieldhouse for the first time since 1998-99.

"It's very frustrating," guard Devonte' Graham told reporters. "We're way better on the road than we have been at home. We have to find a way to come out and crush teams the way they came out and stepped on our throats today."

Arizona's 78-75 loss to Washington dropped the Wildcats four spots in the rankings and ended a seven-game winning streak. The Wildcats are still 16-2 since their 3-3 start and are the clear favorite in the weak Pac-12.

Wichita State moved back six spots to No. 22 in the biggest drop of the week. The Shockers continue to be inconsistent in their first season in the American Athletic Conference, losing an 81-79 thriller on their trip to Temple.

Ten Top 25 teams lost at least one game over the last seven days, leading to two exits. Florida, which fell out of the rankings after being No. 23 a week ago, was the only ranked team to lose two games.

Arizona State also exited following a loss to Washington.

No. 23 Nevada and No. 25 Miami are the two new entrants.
