The top three remained unchanged. After that, the men's college basketball Top 10 included sweeping changes following some major upsets.

Villanova, Virginia and Purdue stayed locked in to their spots from last week, but No. 4 Duke and No. 5 Kansas rounded out the Top Five in the latest Associated Press rankings.

Oklahoma, Wichita State and Texas Tech, all in the Top 10 a week ago, went backward after each team went 0-2 last week.

The Sooners were blown out at Kansas State and narrowly lost to in-state rival Oklahoma State, with Player of the Year favorite Trae Young having up-and-down performances. Young committed 12 turnovers in the loss to the Wildcats and then scored a career-high 48 points against the Cowboys—albeit on a ghastly 14-of-39 shooting performance.

Young missed a three in overtime that would have won the game.

"We've got to work harder on getting more motion away from the ball and get the ball moving a little bit," Sooners coach Lon Kruger told reporters. "Again, obviously what Trae is doing with the ball is pretty special, but we need to get a little bit of movement, too."

No other Oklahoma player scored in double figures against Oklahoma State.

Wichita State took the biggest tumble of the three, dropping 10 spots to No. 17. The Shockers dropped a close home game to SMU before they were blown out by Houston on the road. It's the first time Wichita State has lost consecutive games in conference play since 2012-13. This is Wichita State's first season in the American Athletic Conference after a lengthy run of dominance in the Missouri Valley Conference.

"We have to work on everything," Shockers coach Gregg Marshall told reporters. "We have to work on our ability to score against that pressure. We have to work on rebounding in crowds. We have to work on finishing in a crowd. We had several layups we missed in the first half. We didn't have very many good performances. I have to coach better. We have to play better."

Texas Tech has lost three of its last four games in the vaunted Big 12, including road tilts at Texas and Iowa State last week.

Kentucky and Seton Hall each lost both of their games last week, and they dropped out of the Top 25. John Calipari's team, his youngest ever in Lexington, lost at South Carolina and to Florida in the College GameDay showcase at Rupp Arena on Saturday.

Kentucky joined Arizona among preseason Top Five teams to drop out of the Top 25 this season.

Four new teams, led by No. 16 Saint Mary's, climbed into the rankings this week. No. 20 Florida, No. 23 Nevada and No. 24 Rhode Island joined the Gaels.
