AP College Basketball Poll 2018: Complete Week 11 Rankings Released

Villanova kept rolling to stay No. 1, but there's a new No. 2 team in college basketball.

Virginia continued its ascent of the national rankings in the latest Associated Press poll, as the Cavaliers slotted in behind Villanova after West Virginia lost to Texas Tech and fell out of the No. 2 spot. Purdue moved up two spots to No. 3, while Oklahoma and Duke round out the Top Five.

Here is a look at how the entire poll played out:

The Big 12 took center stage over the last week as teams in the conference put one another through a gauntlet. West Virginia dropped to No. 6 on the back of a tough 72-71 road loss to Texas Tech, which had lost by 10 earlier in the week to Oklahoma. The Sooners, meanwhile, are just over a week removed from a 13-point loss to West Virginia on the road.

Oklahoma currently sits highest among the Big 12 schools at No. 4. Trae Young is the runaway leader for national player of the year honors, leading the country in scoring (30.1 PPG) and assists (9.9 APG). He put up 43 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists in the Sooners' overtime win over TCU on Saturday and had 27 points and nine assists in their win over Texas Tech.

"It's very hard for a guy to be consistently at that high level through 15 ballgames," Oklahoma coach Lon Kruger told reporters after the TCU win. "Normally you get that, and they start expecting it to happen, or they get that drop-off. It hasn't happened with him. I think that's great focus. It speaks to his competitiveness. It speaks to the fact that the team is getting better."

All of this is without mentioning No. 10 Kansas, which has won 13 straight conference championships. The Jayhawks have won three straight games, all coming by five points or fewer, since their home loss to Texas Tech two weeks ago.

TCU was the biggest faller among Top 25 teams, dropping eight spots to No. 24. The Horned Frogs have lost three straight games but none by more than five points.

"I expressed that to them wholeheartedly in the locker room afterward that I am positive without a shadow of a doubt that we are as good as anybody, and I think we are going to show it down the road," TCU coach Jamie Dixon told reporters.

Also hitting a bit of a skid are Michigan State and Miami, who have each lost two of their last three games. The Spartans now sit No. 9 nationally after double-digit losses to Ohio State and Michigan sandwiched an unimpressive win over Rutgers.

Miami is barely hanging on to its ranking at No. 25 following road losses to Georgia Tech and Clemson, with a Florida State win in between.

The Seminoles and Creighton were the two teams to drop out of the Top 25 this week. No. 22 Ohio State and No. 23 Michigan moved into the rankings as replacements.
