New York Jets cornerback Buster Skrine played for the Cleveland Browns from 2011 through 2014 and doesn't think his former team would lose to the college champions.

Skrine said as much to TMZ Sports, highlighting the fact college and the NFL are completely different levels of competition when saying the Browns would beat the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Alabama is fresh off a national championship victory over Georgia, while the Browns finished the 2017 campaign with an abysmal 0-16 record.

For as great as the Crimson Tide were during the regular season and when they beat the Clemson Tigers and Georgia Bulldogs in the College Football Playoff, they didn't even win the SEC West. Perhaps winning their division should come before beating an NFL team, even if that NFL team is the abysmal 0-16 Browns.

As for Skrine, he went through plenty of losing when he was in Cleveland after he was a fifth-round pick in 2011.

The Browns finished with a losing record in all four of his seasons, although their 7-9 mark in 2014 was their best since the 2007 season. Skrine played a part in the 7-9 showing considering he tallied four interceptions during the year.

While Cleveland still has plenty of work ahead of it before it is a playoff contender, Alabama figures to once again be among the best college teams in the country in 2018 after quarterback Tua Tagovailoa entered Monday's national title game and led it to a comeback victory.

The Crimson Tide are No. 1 on Bleacher Report's Top 25 for 2018 and will look to add another national championship.
