Los Angeles Lakers vs. Golden State Warriors: Odds, Analysis, NBA Betting Pick

OddsShark.com

The Golden State Warriors (25-6) will look to extend their winning streak to 11 games when they host the Los Angeles Lakers (11-18) on Friday as home favorites.

The Warriors have won their last six games without leading scorer Stephen Curry (26.3 points per game), who is out with an ankle injury, but Draymond Green (shoulder) is expected to return after a four-game absence.

Point spread: The Warriors opened as 10.5-point favorites, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark. (Line updates and matchup report)

NBA betting pick, via OddsShark computer: 116.2-99.0, Warriors (NBA picks on every game)

Why the Lakers can cover the spread

The Lakers just broke a 14-game winning streak for the Houston Rockets, so this young team's confidence should be high.

They got a career-high 38 points from rookie Kyle Kuzma, who hit 7-of-10 attempts from three-point range and has really been their top first-year star despite playing in the shadow of the more hyped Lonzo Ball.

The two rookies have shown no fear of any opponent in their young NBA careers, and head coach Luke Walton continues to do a great job molding them into team players.

Why the Warriors can cover the spread

Golden State has won the past two home meetings with Los Angeles both straight up and against the spread, with the games decided by an average of 29 points.

The Warriors are also riding a five-game series winning streak, with the last two meetings taking place at Staples Center.

The Warriors have played well lately despite missing Curry and Green, as Kevin Durant has stepped up by averaging 30.5 points in the four games they have both missed. Los Angeles had no answer for the 29-year-old (36 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists) on Monday in a 116-114 home loss.

Smart betting pick

The Lakers have covered three straight games versus three of the best teams in the league, including Golden State. They have also seen their last four games each finish over the total and would love to run again with the Warriors here.

Meanwhile, the lone match that has gone over for Golden State in its last six games came against Los Angeles, the second consecutive meeting to finish above the total.

Look for both teams to run up and down the floor in another high-scoring affair that will see the over cash.

NBA betting trends

Los Angeles is 5-1 ATS in its last six games.

Golden State is 6-3 ATS in its last nine games.

The total has gone under in four of Golden State's last five games at home.
